Saturday February 25th:
Family Weekend Labs is hosting “I Scream for Ice Cream” program at Liberty Science Center from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM in honor of February being Children’s Dental Health Month. Learn about dental health then stick around for LSC-made liquid nitrogen ice cream. Designed for families with children ages 5-11, Family Weekend Lab is $40 per person; $25 for LSC members and you can buy tickets at the Box Office or contact us to make reservations: 201-253-1310 or email@example.com.
If your kids are Frozen fans then you are in luck because Elsa and Olaf of Disney’s Frozen are heading to Newport Skates, where they’ll meet and take photos with children from Jersey City! The characters will be at the rink from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM and the event is free to the public.
Transport yourself to England with High Tea and some Shakespeare at Jersey City’s St. Paul’s Church in Bergen from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. Stratford-upon-Duncan presents a staged reading of Shakespeare’s Richard III, directed by Patrick Taaffe. Admission is free but a donation of $10 is suggested to help cover the cost of the High Tea. Enjoy a night of entertainment while supporting WFMU radio station at “Prove It All Night!” with Pat Byrne from 9:00 PM-Midnight at Jersey City’s Monty Hall. This live DIY late night variety show hosted by Pat Byrne will feature stand up comedy from Seth Herzog (of Tonight Show fame), Mo Fry Pasic, and Carolyn Busa, live music from Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers, surprise guests and more. Opening and closing the show will be special guest DJ’s, Sunshine & the Rain! This event is a WFMU benefit show with a suggested donation of $10, but $5 will get you in otherwise.
Sunday February 26th:
Close out the weekend with an evening of electrifying rhythm and interesting stories from famed percussionist, Neil Clarke. Clarke will be performing and offering an exciting Q&A at Moore’s Lounge (aka Bill & Ruth’s) on Sunday February 26th from 6:30 PM-10:00 PM.
