Visit these Local Parks in Jersey City for Earth Day

April 20, 2017

Here are the Madox apartments, we have the best of both worlds – we live in a bustling, busy city and we also have plenty of access to green space. With Earth Day almost here on April 22, there is no better time to take advantage of that than now!

If you’re looking to finally enjoy this warm weather by taking the dog out, going for a walk or just throwing the Frisbee around, then check out one of the 60 parks located near your Madox apartment.

Liberty State Park, located on Freedom Way in Jersey City which is about four miles from your Madox apartment, sits on 1,200 acres on which families can spend the day biking, walking, running, playing, flying kites, picnicking, playing sports, fishing, crabbing, or sightseeing along the Hudson River Walkway.

Liberty State Park is also home to some of the region’s most vital wetlands, providing a year round sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife, fish and birds. In fall, winter and spring, the Park is a significant stop and nesting site for many species of migratory birds, including the great snowy owl.

Lincoln Park, located about three miles from your Madox apartment, is the largest park in Hudson County which has athletic facilities, statuary, trails and wildlife habitats. Lincoln Park East is known for its many sports fields – there are 21 outdoor tennis courts, seven baseball fields, a cricket pitch, three children’s playgrounds, the Charlie Mays running track, five basketball courts, two football fields, two soccer fields, and four handball/paddleball courts.

As the first park in the Hudson County Park System, it’s no wonder that families flock to Lincoln Park in warmer weather!
