On October 29th Jersey City will transform the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey (also known as the Communipaw Station) into the Terminal of Terror! This could arguably be the spookiest event of the year in New Jersey. The event post went viral as soon as Lynn Hazan, owner of ChicpeaJC, posted it on her page. The terminal is right on the Hudson River and overlooks the gorgeous Manhattan skyline.
The Central Railroad of New Jersey was built in 1889, abandoned in 1967 and then added to the NJ Register of Historic Places and incorporated into Liberty State Park. This historic terminal along with nearby Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty recall the era of massive immigration through the Port of New York and New Jersey. It is estimated that around 10.5 million entered the country through the station. With all this history it’s not a shock that the terminal is said to be haunted, making it the perfect venue for a Halloween party! The event is hosted by ChicpeaJC and HayOner and they’ve also collaborated with RDG Restaurant Group who own Raval, Lucky Bar and Satis Bistro. Some confirmed food trucks are Milk Sugar Love, Pizza-Vita Burger, The Angry Crab and Warrior-NY.
JC Day Trippers will be providing a “spookly shuttle” from Grove Street to the terminal and then back to Grove after the event. People from NYC have also bought tickets and are making the trip to Jersey City so you know it will be a good one!
