In 1966, Truman Capote hosted a party for over 500 people at the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Plaza Hotel for the “Black and White Ball”. The guest list included a mix of artists and socialites such as Frank Sinatra, Andy Warhol and Gloria Vanderbilt. It was indeed the party of the century and still talked about today.
For the Jersey City version at Taphaus, tickets are $150.00 and that includes premium open bar from 9-11PM, passed hors d’ oeuvres, unlimited champagne, the best view of Manhattan that Jersey City has to offer and fireworks over the Hudson River. Some of the past appetizers you can look forward to are shrimp cocktail, lobster rolls, short rib sliders, steak skewers with veggies, crudités and bruschetta.
Taphaus is a unique atmosphere with an extensive 48 tap system featuring some of the best beers in the world. They have a vast array of innovative food created by celebrity chef Chris Nirschel. It has a capacity to seat 200 people as well as an amazing outdoor space that seats an additional 100. Some of their popular menu items include the Haus burger, grilled avocado salad, grilled Bavarian pretzel and gorgonzola bacon burger.
There will also be a photo booth at the event so you’ll have plenty of opotunity to get some souvenirs! Don’t forget to use #partyofthecentury and #NYEJC as your hashtags on December 31st if you’re sharing on social media.
