Jersey City has two more great restaurants to brag about!
You can enjoy Oktoberfest whenever you’d like now at Wurstbar which recently opened in jersey City. For their classic “Haus Wursts” you have a choice of beef, frank brat or kielbasa which are topped with kraut, mustard, pickled onions and relish. They also have signature sausages such as the “Game Day” which includes chicken sausage, buffalo blue cheese sauce, celery ribbons and fried chicken skins. All of their signature sandwiches can also be substituted with veggie sausages. Poutine might be a classic side dish in Canada, but the Wurstbar perfects these cheese fries! If you’re a beer lover you’ll be happy to hear they have 14 beers on tap, 9 bottled beers and over 20 ciders available. This simple yet delicious restaurant should be next on your dining list! They also offer delivery. Their ribbon cutting ceremony will be on November 3rd.
Pet Shop is the new neighborhood bar in downtown Jersey City. They offer 12 beers on tap and have a nice wine selection. Their specialty cocktails are also a hit such as “Rosemary’s Bubbly” which is vodka, rosemary agave, lemon and topped with sparkling wine. You may be surprised that this bar only offers vegetarian bites. Some of their favorites are roasted beet carpaccio, buffalo cauliflower and the “pulled pork” sandwich which is passion fruit simmered in a homemade BBQ sauce piled on a soft bun and topped with vegan slaw. The inside is hip and eccentric and they also offer outdoor seating. Come check them out at their ribbon cutting which is on October 27th!
