This year Madox residents don’t have to travel to Louisiana to experience Mardi Gras because New Orleans is coming to Liberty Science Center February 15th for LSC After Dark: Mardi Gras.
At this masquerade bash you’ll submerge yourself in festive experiments, delicious drinks from Bourbon Street, and you’ll be rocking plenty of beads. This event will include everything from learning the anatomy of a voodoo doll, aquatic creatures from the Louisiana Bayou, limoncello tastings courtesy of Jersey City Super Buy-Rite, to a tasty margarita bar.
As if that isn’t enticing enough, Midnight Market will also be attending the Mardi Gras festival serving delicious bites at $5.00. They’ll have traditional New Orleans food such as beignets, pulled port sliders, muffaletta’s and more. If you haven’t heard of Midnight Market they throw the best foodie nightlife events in Jersey City and NYC. According to the owners, “Midnight Market offers a unique way for the community to connect over the love of food and a good party”.
Take full advantage of LSC After dark by experiencing Liberty Science Center’s Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, the largest and most technologically advanced planetarium in the Western Hemisphere! LSC is a nonprofit organization, and for an additional $5.00 donation, which supports their programs for 91,000 students from at-risk communities, you can see one of their stunning new planetarium shows. For all the Star Trek fans out there, for an extra $10.00 you can experience their premium exhibition, Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience.
