You don’t need to go into New York City to get your fix of fine art. Mana Contemporary, located at 888 Newark Ave, offers tours of fascinating exhibits, local art, poetry readings and wine tastings hosted by some of the best wine experts in the country. Mana Contemporary was a former tobacco warehouse which now provides the perfect space for storing art, wine and exhibit space. It was founded in 2011 and remains one of the most innovative contemporary art organizations in the United States! They also have locations in Chicago and Miami if you ever want to take a trip .
A popular exhibit is Gary Lichtenstein’s who has had a successful 40 year career in the art world. You can find his work at some of the most prestigious art museums in the country and fortunately for Mana, they got a hold of his limited editions prints. You can find his work on the 2nd floor.
Right now Mana Art is focusing on the “Mana Urban Arts Project”. All around Jersey City you’ll find creative street art on walls that were once bare brick. It’s getting a ton of attention around the Jersey City and really brings the community together.
Mana wine is new to Mana Contemporary. This year they launched their program offering public and private events such as dinners, wine tastings, seminars and classes. Their main focus is to enjoy great tasting wines with friends, strangers and colleagues in a “one of a kind setting”.
