Check Out These Local Pizzerias for National Pizza Day

November 9, 2017

As the temperatures drop, all of us are craving some comfort food that we can hole up with in our Madox apartments, and luckily for Bozzuto residents, National Pizza Day – in which we celebrate all that’s cheesy, saucy and delicious – is right around the corner on Nov. 12!

If you need a little precursor to your big Thanksgiving meal, then check out one of these pizza shops in Jersey City to get your fix of the comfort food staple that everyone can appreciate, whether it be topped with pepperoni, anchovies or just some melted cheese.

Gino’s Pizzeria, located at 380 Central Ave, Jersey City which is about 15 minutes from your Madox apartment, is a decades-old family-owned restaurant that serves pizza and classic Italian dishes in a casual space.

Founded by the father of two current owners Andrew and Frank Saputo, Salvatore, all the way back in 1976, what was once a tiny pizzeria has become a cornerstone restaurant for great Italian-American food here on Central Avenue.

Rustique Pizza, located at 611 Jersey Ave, Jersey City which is a 20 minute walk from your Madox apartment, is a comfy, brick-walled space serving brick-oven pizzas, salads and Italian entrees such as veal marsala.

Some of their specialty pies include the prosciutto and arugula pie with prosciutto di parma, arugula, mozzarella cheese, roasted garlic oil and shaved Parmesan cheese and tomato sauce and the buffalo chicken pizza with grilled marinated chicken breast doused with Frank’s red hot sauce.
