Halloween is right around the corner and there’s no better way to get in the spooky spirit than to head to one of the South Orange area’s many haunted houses, hay rides and mazes, all of which will make you pretty thrilled to head back to your Madox apartment late at night.
If you’re ready to get scared in prep for October 31 – even if that means indulging in some red food coloring, rubber masks and ripped clothing – then don’t miss these local haunted spots when you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend.
Haunted Scarehouse, located at 105 W Dewey Ave, Wharton which is about 45 minutes from your Madox apartment, has been ranked as one of America’s best haunted houses and contains two floors of scares for guests looking for some Halloween fun.
This year, the Haunted Scarehouse challenges you to navigate your way through The Hayden Farmhouse and make your way to the second floor. In order to leave the Farmhouse, your entire group will be forced to escape. Your group will race against the clock trying to solve the sinister puzzle, those that succeed will win a prize!
The Forest of Fear, located at 600 NY-17A, Tuxedo Park, New York which is about an hour and 20 minutes from your Madox apartment, has seven different haunted attractions in its forest park including Blind Panic, the Slaughterhouse and more. It’s a trek, but it’s an experience you won’t soon forget!
The Forest of Fear operates on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from Oct. 6 through Oct. 29. There are also tons of refreshments, games and vendors available at the park as well for Halloween fans to find all that they need.
